Santa Barbara Club Wedding : Talea + Evan
The historic Santa Barbara Club played host to a beautifully sophisticated wedding last weekend. Renowned for its Wine Country cuisine and secluded garden oasis within the city, it was a beautiful space to say the least. Talea and Evan celebrated the joining of two families, and their love for eternity.
Talea and Evan, thank you for being the kindest, most thoughtful souls since the moment we met you. From your Santa Barbara engagement session at your mid century modern home, to the very last wedding dance – you have accepted us into your lives. Thank you for trusting us to document such a beautiful chapter in your story. We can’t wait to see how the rest will unfold! With love and appreciation…Josh and Michaela
HAIR AND MAKEUP SHOT
We’ve never seen a bride more in love with her dress than Talea was…and rightfully so!
Her #bridesquad popped some champagne and gave a toast to the new role Talea was about to enter as a wife.
Her mom helped her carefully button up her Here Comes The Bride dress….
Then her bridesmaids fluffed up the dress and made sure every last detail was perfect!
Meanwhile…the Santa Barbara Club lobby was being set up to welcome guests into the venue.
Upstairs, Evan got ready with his groomsmen…we loved his sleek, sophisticated style, especially the Mission Tuxedo.
The guys played a bit of pool together…
…and celebrated together while football played in the background…
Evan was one of the calmest, and happiest grooms we’ve ever worked with…
After Talea and Evan were both ready, we had Evan stand downstairs to await their first look.
Talea tapped him on the shoulder, and held back tears as Evan smiled as wide as a football field at her.
Despite her best efforts to not cry, Talea welled up with tears and happiness.
The whole venue fell quiet around us as Talea read a beautiful poem to her future husband.
After the emotional first look, we took them outside to take some portraits.
I swear, they could both be models…
INSERT STAIRS PICTURE
…and it was all smiles pretty much the whole day…
They practiced how it would feel when they were announced husband and wife.
After a few more portraits, we gathered the entire bridal party together for a group photo.
The girls had too much fun trying to make each other laugh, even we started laughing!
The guys weren’t very serious either, so we just captured them having a good time.
Meanwhile, the beautiful ceremony space was set up just to the side of us. The Twisted Twig did such a beautiful job with all of the florals.
One of our favorite moments…when dad walks his gorgeous bride down the aisle…
Talea and Evan wrote their own vows..which made us tear up a bit…
…and made everyone start sniffling…
Halfway through the ceremony, they combined sand into a vase for them to keep together. It represented the joining of both families.
…and at last, they exchanged rings with one another…
They officially became husband and wife with a seal of a kiss!
The guests threw fresh lavender at the happy couple as they rain down the aisle.
Their second kiss as husband and wife.
As we left to take a few more portraits with Talea and Evan, the ceremony space was transformed into the reception.
Lush garlands and peonies were strewn across all the tables.
We love when couples get creative and have cute escort cards like these cork ones…
Oh, did we mention that we LOVED Tala’s shoes!!!
Inside the Santa Barbara Club, cute little cupcakes sat waiting to be eaten for dessert.
We loved the sparkly custom cut cake topper!
After dinner, Talea and Evan shared their first dance together inside…
…and then everyone joined in with them!
It was quite the crowd! Everyone took turns showing off their dance moves in the center of the dance floor.
Thank you to all the talented vendors who helped pull this wedding together so beautifully…
