Your wedding day is here! All the planning, and dreaming and preparing you have been doing led you to this very day. It’s beautiful, magical and exciting. Today is the day that you are going to marry the man of your dreams. Today is the day you are going to become a wife. But, as Destination Wedding photographer’s, we are selfish creatures. We want you to get ready where there is the best possible light. Today we will help you decide where to get ready on your wedding day.
A Hotel Suite
A hotel suite is an ideal space because you will have the room to spread out your wedding dress. Believe us when we tell you that it can be quite the disaster to get ready in a confined space. It is unnecessary stress that you don’t need on your wedding day.
If your bridesmaids are staying in the same hotel, they can get ready in their own room and come join you when it’s time for you to get dressed. If you’re staying overnight, you can leave your stuff in the room.
Unless your family has moved around a ton like mine did, your parent’s home is the one place that hold’s so many memories. And what better place to be, than the one that makes you feel most comfortable. The problem however, is the location.
Unless your home happens to be adjacent to your wedding venue, you’ll have quite a drive to get there. In all honestly, do you really want to spend the majority of your day in a car? This is something you must consider before using your childhood home as a space to get ready.
A true bridal suite is designed for this one purpose. There are mirrors, a couch to lounge on, and maybe even a pretty bathroom all on the same floor. Even better, you are just steps away from the altar and don’t have to worry about traffic. If you ceremony and reception location are the same venue, you can even leave your belongings in the room until after the reception.
If it is a beautiful day outside, we love to shoot the bride getting ready outdoors. It provides the prettiest lighting and makes for organic photos. We have more room to walk around you and photograph the best angles. You will get more photos and perspectives. To be honest, this is our favorite option!
