They met at church. She was sitting off to the side of the chapel when a friend Hannah asked her to come sit in the middle with her before the service began. Caitlin happily moved seats and they began talking about college, and their future careers. In the middle of their conversation, a surprisingly tall, well dressed guy snuck into the seat beside her. She secretly stole a glance at him and thought “ah, now I get why Hannah asked me to sit by her!” The guy casually chatted to the people surrounding them. Caitlin noticed how confident, funny and handsome he was.

She struggled to finish her story to her friend without being distracted by the guy. Before she knew it, he reached over and introduced himself as James. He casually said, “I couldn’t help but overhear what you guys were talking about. What exactly do you do?” By that moment, Caitlin was already admiring his green eyes and knew he was someone special. They had a very nerdy conversation about the science of food – full of intelligent questions and funny comments. By the time the church service began to start, she was smiling ear to ear. He quietly whispered, “we’ll have to talk some more about this” and with that he gave her a wink. As they say…the rest is history ;)

They decided to share their first look with each other at the Oso Creek Trail in Orange County, California in the garden maze.

Caitlin quietly walked up from behind James to give him a hug…

Then, he turned around to see his beautiful bride in her wedding dress. The dress was a complete shock and surprise to him…

You could just tell by his eyes how much he adores Caitlin…

He spun her around a few times to really get a good look at her before enjoying the moment together…

After the first look, James helped Caitlin leave the garden maze…

He flung the flower bouquet over his shoulder and lead Caitlin to the next portrait location…

They held each other tight in the butterfly garden and whispered sweet nothings into each others ears…

The Oso Creek trail was the perfect location for them!

We all had so much fun getting to know each other and sharing stories…

Caitlin and James couldn’t get enough of each other and were so excited to share all about their future wedding day plans…

Caitlin looked so elegant in her updo and classic pearls…

They were not afraid to crack cheesy jokes to make each other laugh…

These two souls were made for each other…

We are so lucky that we get to photograph their wedding next Saturday at the Newport Beach LDS Mormon Temple.
