We just returned from a week in Austin, Texas, shooting a beautiful rustic wedding at The Vineyards at Chappel Lodge. The lodge is a dreamy 53-acre estate with endless fields of wildflowers, and historic Texas oak trees that will take your breath away. Pinch me. Lucky for us, we also had a chance to run around and explore the quirky Austin city for a few days.
First, we headed down to the street from our hotel to the Trailer Park Eatery, one of our new favorite places to hang out and eat in Austin. The “Democrat” and “Fried Avocado” at Torchy’s Tacos are to die for…most delicious tacos on the planet!
Every city we’ve been to, we make it a point to seek out the best coffee shops. There is nothing more heavenly than the smell of fresh roasted coffee on a cold, rainy day. We stumbled across Caffe Medici and it did not disappoint.
Our second day started bright and early on South Congress Avenue.
We had a date with a pair of cowboy boots at Allen’s Boots and a delicious Texas draft beer at Doc’s across the street.
Hey Cupcake! tempted me with their mouth watering 24 carrot cupcake. Yum.
Even the graffiti here is pretty amazing…of course we had to exchange a quick kiss on the side of Jo’s Coffee, because we love each other so much!
The last day of our trip to Austin, Texas was by far the most relaxing. We spent the day on rental bikes from RideScout cruising up and down the river.
I’ll end on this photo because like the lotus flower, our lives are a series of paths we take, starting at the seed, through the bud emerging from the dirty water, and leaving attachment behind, finally blossoming into awakening. We flew to Austin, Texas to find a new home, and left understanding that home is where the heart is.
