A few weeks ago, I took a leap of faith and quite my full time job as a preschool teacher to pursue wedding photography full time. To be California and destination wedding photographers is a dream that Josh and I are ready to actualize. Quitting my stable 9-5 job was one of the hardest decisions I have ever made, but a necessary one. After weeks of preparation and stress for my resignation, Josh and I decided to celebrate my corporate retirement with a much needed road trip.
Daydreams of lush trees, crisp cold air and a fresh perspective on life filled our hearts. There is nothing quite like the deep, uncontrollable urge to wander and explore. We needed an adventure. We needed to live. So, with my Kia Soul stuffed to the ceiling, cameras ready to go and the outdoors calling our names – we mapped out our course from Southern California to Oregon.
Yesterday, I spent all day grocery shopping for natural, organic ingredients and pre-made all of our meals for the trip. We wanted to eat as healthy as possible knowing we would be spoiling ourselves at restaurants in Portland, Oregon.
After preparing all of our food, I made a general itinerary of our trip using the Roadtrippers app. I seriously love this app. It not only lets you add places for sight seeing and basic needs (gas, hotels, camp sites, food), but also will calculate the cost of fuel and time to destination for your adventure. Pretty cool, huh?
